About the Moody Lab

Welcome!

The Moody Discovery Laboratory focuses on understanding the B cell responses during the earliest stages of HIV, influenza, and syphilis infection, providing pre-clinical and translational support for downstream human clinical studies that fall within DHVI’s mission of performing research against infectious diseases that impact global health.

The lab is a resource for both nonhuman and human cellular phenotyping, flow characterization, staining, and analysis at DHVI.

The Moody Discovery Laboratory performs a variety of assays to support the DHVI mission; including cellular and serological assays, molecular biological techniques, protein production, and viral isolate propagation.

Dr. Moody is an expert in flow cytometry and B cell biology. He developed novel approaches to memory B cell sorting and has worked with a team at the DHVI that isolated >15,000 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). He is also an expert in the analysis of B cell clonal lineages, including the evolution of such lineages over time. Dr. Moody is the director of the Accessioning Unit and Biorepository.
