Senior Scientific Program Leader

Hilary has a PSM in Cell Biology from the Illinois Institute of Technology, a BS in Biology from the University of South Carolina-Spartanburg, and is a graduate of the Duke Management Academy.

Hilary loves being a part of discovery science and seeing ideas go all the way from in vitro studies to human clinical trials. Her areas of expertise include pre-award and post-award grant and contract proposals, project and program management (scope, budgets, timelines, stakeholder engagements, communications, etc.), transgenic mouse colony establishment and maintenance, animal immunization experimental design, animal tissue processing, IACUC protocols and policies, ELISAs, and flow cytometry.

She joined DHVI in 2007 and has been a member of the DHVI Safety Committee since 2010, is the 2022 Chair of the Duke Project Management Community of Practice (and was previously the Membership Chair from 2020-2021), and is the 2021-2023 President of the Rotary Club of Hillsborough.

Hilary loves music and is always up for catching a concert; everything from Prince to Pantera, Parton to Pachelbel - she loves it all. She was also in a living history reenactment group for many years and still enjoys making the rounds at local historic sites.
